the
Selecting and entering your preferences on SONIA:
Always put
3
preferences.
If you dont you will have more of a chance of being allocated to a placement
that you may not like.
Agencies remain visible throughout the preference selection process.
This means there may be many students who have each put a preference for a
particular agency, which might reduce your chances for that agency. By selecting
some of the more unusual agencies, you maximise your chances of being allocated
one of your preferences.
Be sure youre
happy to go to any of your 3 preferences.
If
you are finally allocated an agency from your preferences, you are required to
go to that agency.
You
cannot change your mind
later, so choose your preferences carefully.
It is possible that
agencies may have to cancel a placement at the last minute, or that we have to
shuffle students a bit to accommodate everyone. Wait until you get a confirming
email from the Clinical Placement Administrator to tell you what your final
allocation is.
Occasionally a very small percentage of students do not get allocated one of
their preferences, and a small percentage of agencies may not be allocated a
student. The course coordinator will have to allocate the student. While your
preferences will be taken into account, and some attempt to shuffle other
allocations to meet everyones wishes will be undertaken, the final
allocation responsibility will be taken by the coordinator.
If you
are un able to view a venue it may be because you have already visited this
site or its associated practices.
Tips for viewing
available placements:
Have you
presented the essential requirements to the CPU (National Police Clearance &
Senior First Aid Certificate)?
